So the poor little man's first big boy field trip got rained out and cancelled... no pumpkin patch today. But I had taken the day off of work to chaperone and fulfill my new duties as one of the school's yearbook photographers. So I got a hold of Ms. Hoover and asked if she needed a volunteer for the classroom. As it turned out she could use someone to help carve a pumpkin that she had got to help pass the time in her now unplanned day. Pumpkin... me carve a pumpkin... I would never do such a thing... it's only my most favorite activity of the whole year. So I headed up to the school this morning... and spent 2 1/2 hours carving welcome into a pumpkin... can't be having evil Halloween in the schoold anymore. It was a really neat but intricate design... I think Ms Hoover is afraid I'll never come back. It was actually totally cool... the kids were mostly awesome, and I know my little man was happy I could have lunch with him and see his classroom and his friends. It was nice... well maybe not lunch... 120 kindegarteners... that was scary... scarier than Halloween!!!!
