Welcome

So the poor little man's first big boy field trip got rained out and cancelled... no pumpkin patch today. But I had taken the day off of work to chaperone and fulfill my new duties as one of the school's yearbook photographers. So I got a hold of Ms. Hoover and asked if she needed a volunteer for the classroom. As it turned out she could use someone to help carve a pumpkin that she had got to help pass the time in her now unplanned day. Pumpkin... me carve a pumpkin... I would never do such a thing... it's only my most favorite activity of the whole year. So I headed up to the school this morning... and spent 2 1/2 hours carving welcome into a pumpkin... can't be having evil Halloween in the schoold anymore. It was a really neat but intricate design... I think Ms Hoover is afraid I'll never come back. It was actually totally cool... the kids were mostly awesome, and I know my little man was happy I could have lunch with him and see his classroom and his friends. It was nice... well maybe not lunch... 120 kindegarteners... that was scary... scarier than Halloween!!!!

It's time for haircuts...

Since my little man needed a haircut I thought I'd give my little dude a try at sitting still for someone else and hope he wouldn't sream and cry for them. It worked, he sat as still as a statue and got his hair trimmed up. Next was big brothers turn... not so good at sitting still but he got a great little do! I'm sure school pictures won't be anytime soon and I'll probably never get them to cooperate again for the stylist! Oh well they look adorable for my pics!!!!!

Apple Orchard

Okay so the PKU Fall Festival was held in an apple orchard... which ended up okay with the boys even though I told them it was a pumpkin patch. We got to pick 6 bags of apples which in turn I'll make into apple butter! There was a maze made out of haystacks/bundles... which they boldly took... following of course two very cute girls. Oh and we can't forget the awesome hayride. All in all a great day out for the three of us and Miss Lisa! I did cave and I bought the boys pumpkins since we couldn't pick any... Little dude picked out a snake gourd, which we will carve into a snake, and the Little man got 3 baby pumpkins of different colour which we will put on a serving platter with spiders milling about on it! So much fun stuff planned for Halloween!!!!

No Printer :(

Yeah my printer won't work with my new operating system... at least not to print. So It's been relocated while we search for a HP that will work. That means no photo updates... which is irking me as much as it will you all.

On a positive note I started yet another job this week, I like it... hate the catty crap, and it's really bad there, but I'm trying to take the mom approach and not really talk to anyone except my main man Kevin who got me the job. I'm a receptionist at an eye care place, training to be a tech. I work normal hours which seems to have put me into a normal sleep cycle, and makes me much more awake and energized through out the day... and this is with me being sick for the past 10 days. I've actually accomplished stuff... like today, I weeded the front walk, clipped three batches of lavender, took the kids outside to play, and took them for a brief outing in the car. Weird... now if we could only have the jobs at the same time and weekends as a family... that would be just perfect!!!!!!!

Aug 19th first day of school for the little man

The little man was very excited about his first day of school, although not too impressed with the time of day it starts... me either. Hopped up on the bus with no problems, off the bus with no problems... no tears not even a look back. We were allowed to meet the bus at the school for pictures and to get the little ones settled, which was probably best for me... I didn't want him getting lost or anything... he could have cared less.

1st day Continued

I made the little man take me from the front door of his school into his classroom, he got us there with no problems, then hung up his backpack and started coloring... well complained about coloring more like it... definitely not the artist his mama is... in fact he hates coloring! The day went great according to him, according to us parents who missed the bus and had to go pick him up... it wasn't so good. Yeah we missed the bus. The schedule said 3:18, we got there at 3:10 eagerly waited 25 mins before a kind couple said the bus had already been there, he'll be back at the school if you weren't here. Great and cause it's only 1.5 blocks from the house guess what we neglected to bring... any of the 3 phones that were ringing off the hook. When I went in to get him, he was patiently waiting in the office with his teacher... no tears, Mr Independent.

Back Blog from July Hmmmm...

... how can you get an extra 20 mins in the water at the lake, make sand angels and have to rinse off all the sand AGAIN!!! I found it cute, the frustrated T-man not so much... needless to say they both HAD to get back in the water for a rinse, then dry off... about 20 extra mins gained.

I declare a thumb war... ah passing time in the backseat of the car, all is fun and games until the little dude wins then someone is bound to lose an eyeball, or maybe even the whole head!
