OMG!!!!!!

The little dude has been eating all kinds of new things... Celide will be so proud of him, even if she is mad at us for forgetting his blood test for 3 months. Last week he tried a peanut, good thing he seems to have outgrown that allergy... or at least it is not very bad... he didn't eat the peanut just stuck it in his mouth. He also took one look at Taco Bell's cinnamon twists and said yuck then licked one, and devoured the whole bag within 5 mins. Yesterday the T-man had to work a 12 hour day and I was being lazy and got the little man and I Pizza Hut cheese stix... well the little dude said he wanted some and I gave him a bite which turned into a whole stick... and then he ate a graham cracker at Ms. Lisa's... yeah that was all the solid food he could have for entire day, way too much protein... but he ate new food!!! Then tonight he tried and did not like broccoli and finally the little man convinced him that ketchup is really good on fries... we couldn't get him to stop eating fries... good thing Ruby Tuesdays has free fry refills! I know it seems silly but for 3.5 yrs it's only been applesauce, pureed peas, fries, baby oatmeal, pureed sweet potatoes, dorito chips and the occasional doughnut hole. THIS IS MAJOR PROGRESS PEOPLE!!!!!!!

again... I'm weird!

So who else scoops out the plants as they pass alongside them while driving? Most people see weeds... I see opportunities to make crazy stuff. Yup the wild blackberries are coming into full swing as are the wine berries... I've got plenty now frozen for jam... which makes my little man very happy! I've also collected some red clover and dried it for tea, and the chamomile from last year gave me more plants this year so I've got that collected as well. Got a great deal of fennel and yarrow to collect soon... also for tea, and the rose hips are coming along just plump and nice... can't decide if I'll do wine, mead, or jelly/jam with those... guess it will depend on crop size! My garden... well it doesn't do as good as the weeds, but hopefully we will get a few tomatoes before Daisy does!

I know I'm weird but...

... I might have hit the all time low today!

I read, I read a lot of true crime and mysteries so I read a lot of gross visuals... and you assume that there is some truth to the gore painted with words, but it can be fiction so embellishing is not unheard of. So when you read about decomposing bodies that move because of the feasting maggots you kinda gotta wonder. So we took a hike today and came across a decomposing animal and yes you guessed it there were swarms of moving maggots... never seen that before and instead of being all girlie and getting grossed out, I say hey boys come check this out, isn't it cool. Yeah I'm perfectly sane!

On to my book reads... well since I'm not at Borders anymore, I'm back to my genre's. I read I believe Jodi Picoult's first book- the humpback whale one... very good, although not quite as refined as the newer stuff... I love seeing how an author has matured! Still huge thumbs up!

Next I've started on the Kathy Reichs series and I'm an evening's worth of reading away from finishing it and I need the next in the series... I don't have it... neither did WB&V... Argh... maybe I'll pester Mom to check the warehouse or fredneck tomorrow... still I won't get it until Saturday... I'm bummed. But back to the books I love in a way that the books are completely different then the TV show Bones... just the main character shares a name. But the author has an annoying thing about sharing info eluding to the outcome of the book. Wish I had listened to that, paid attention to this at the time... can't stand it... just write the book and let us dum-dums figure it out later... I don't want the clue that really Tempe didn't pay attention to. Oh well still thumbs up for the series. It's summer so I've been relaxed on reading!

Monster Truck Jam!

We had a blast today at the Monster Truck Jam. It was hot and we all got various sunburns, but we had fun doing something that none of us had done before. The boys were so excited, and they behaved - YEAH!. They both picked out their favorite trucks. Little man's was Grave Digger, and he was mighty upset because for the race part of the Jam they were repairing a broken axle on it... but they made up for it in the freestyle event wowing the crowd and giving a little bit longer and more free-styling of a show... Grave Digger won the freestyle event. The little dude picked Superman which won the race part of the Jam. "Get Er'Done!"

Backblog: Hope everyone had a safe 4th!

We had the usual party at the house with the usual suspects... Grandpa, Grandma, Sylvia (the beagle), a couple of the T-man's co-workers and of course Ms. Lisa. I totally wowed everyone with my menu... all veggie finger foods, except the steaks that I marinated for us omnivores! Let's see, guacamole served in cherry tomatoes, potato salad served in red potatoes, snow pea's wrapped around cream cheese and veggies, fresh salsa served in roma tomatoes, bruschetta served in cherry tomatoes, and veggie wraps! The food was yummy... except I didn't like the potato salad-it had an egg in it! This years fireworks were great! The little man loved it, the little dude well he could kinda care less and took off riding his tricycle. The dogs... scared out of their waggily tail minds.

BACKBLOG: Okay totally inappropriate but...

We had a major breakthrough in the last few weeks. First my little dude starting using his potty chair to pee in, and he could go the whole day, minus bedtime, without a diaper... music to my ears. Then last week when I was at work at the Gap he came running into the store and announces at the top of his lungs that he pooped on the potty. I thought it's probably just a fluke... nope he has been pooping on the potty ever since! Now we are down to 2 diapers a day/night,Yes! I'm so proud... I had to include a potty shot... he'll kill me later in life, oh well... Paybacks for 3+ years of diapers!

Well I've rubbed off on my little man... he quite excitedly is awaiting till we have foraged enough mulberries to make some jam or jelly. Excitedly enough to actually help me pick mulberries without complaining I might add. This pictures was taken somewhere in the middle of June when the mulberries were ripe for the pickin' We had a great time together doing this!

okay I lied... no pics yet

3 clues that you should probably stay in bed;

1: your youngest bites your oldest- yeah it's the start of one of THOSE days.
2: When your oldest takes off his dirty undies he flings them to the ground behind him... but misses and you find them in the toilet... where of course someone has done a #2 and not flushed.
3: While trying to get a blood sample your oldest tells on your youngest how much it's going to hurt... to get a better grasp on the kicking screaming child you take your lancet and place it between your teeth so it doesn't touch anything... only you had it turned the wrong way and end up lancing your lip.

Welcome to my first 15 mins of yesterday!!!

I promise I have pictures...

... but I just have to get the printer set back up! The kitchen is about 99.5% finished now. I have 5 more pieces of trim to fiddle with and I have to buy another edge strip but that's it and that's not bad. Last week was a holiday week so I took time off from the kitchen. I'm hoping I can get the T-man to hook the printer back up tonight, then we will have some backlog pictures of the 4th and other little outings we have done! I did finally get another job, but I think they are so criminal focused they really don't focus on previous employment, plus I did not give them the Borders phone number. Funny I have not seen my paycheck yet, I'm assuming it will take major prodding to actually get my final paycheck. So yeah I handle packages at FedEx Ground, 3 hrs a day loading/unloading semi tractor trailers... I haven't told the boys yet... they are going to go nuts when they realize what I do. Of course here is what I neglected to mention my work hours are 11:30pm to 2:30am... I have a feeling the truancy officer will be visiting the house after school starts.
